Journal Intro:
One of the most powerful steps in somatic healing is developing a deeper, more compassionate relationship with your body. Throughout this book, we’ve introduced various ways to listen to your body’s signals, regulate your nervous system, and process stored emotions. This two-week Befriending the Body Journal is designed to help you integrate these practices into your daily life in a simple, structured, and supportive way.
Â
The purpose of this journal is not to add another rigid task to your routine, but rather to create a space where you can pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Each day, you’ll be given a reflection prompt to gently guide your awareness inward, along with a somatic practice to help you embody what you’re noticing.

How to Use This Journal:Â
-
Set an Intention: Before you begin, take a moment to set an intention for this journey. Maybe you want to cultivate more self-awareness, feel safer in your body, or simply learn to listen with more curiosity.
-
Choose a Time That Works for You: This journal is most effective when used consistently, but there’s no perfect way to do it. Some people like to check in first thing in the morning, while others find it more helpful in the evening. Find a rhythm that feels natural.
-
Go at Your Own Pace: If a particular prompt or practice brings up discomfort, that’s okay. You don’t have to push through—take breaks, revisit practices, or skip ahead if needed.
-
Stay Curious: There are no right or wrong answers in this journey. What’s most important is the practice of noticing—without judgment—what your body is communicating to you.
Â
By the end of these two weeks, you may find that you have a clearer sense of your body’s language, a deeper connection to your inner world, and a set of tools that you can return to whenever you need support. This is your journey—take it in a way that feels right for you.
