You ask the question. They answer. And then?

You have learned to ask “where do you feel that in your body?” And your client answers. My chest. My throat, it’s tight. A knot in my stomach.

Then comes the moment where you are not sure where to go from there. So the session drifts back to the story, the place you know how to work, and the sensation they named stays where it was.

If that sounds familiar, you’re in good company. You’re good at what you do, and you’ve got the perfect foundation for your next step.

Picture that same moment. Your client names the tightness in their throat, and this time you know your first move.

You reflect it back so they feel met. You invite them to stay with it, to notice what it is like, and to witness what happens. You can tell when to slow down, and you know how to move towards something steadier and back again.

And you can do all of it from your chair, in the way you already work.

This course is for you if

  • You’re a coach, therapist, counsellor or facilitator who already works with clients one-to-one or in groups
  • You ask clients where they feel something, and you want to know what to do with their answer
  • You want to bring the body into your sessions in a way that feels natural and safe, not awkward or forced
  • You’d like to understand what to do if something big comes up for someone, and where your scope ends
  • You want to build on the skills you already have, not start over

You don’t need any prior somatic training. These are the first steps.

Rachel and Lucy, founders of The Whole Health Project

Some things can’t be talked through. They have to be felt through.

Between us, we have taught yoga, breathwork and meditation internationally for years, trained over 2,000 students across our trainings, and written Somatic Practices for Trauma together. And again and again, we saw the same thing.

People could understand their patterns perfectly. They could explain their Daddy issues, their attachment style, they knew what the nervous system is and does, and they could explain exactly why they felt the way they did. And still, nothing shifted.

We also saw the other side. Practitioners who’d been to an intense weekend workshop and came back with powerful techniques, and no idea how to use them safely.

So everything we teach is built around one principle: steady, sustainable change rather than dramatic, dysregulating release. Lasting change doesn’t come from breaking someone open. It comes from helping their system feel safe enough to settle, a little at a time.

The short course gives you the first steps. The training gives you steady ground to take them on.

Not a dramatic breakthrough. Something quieter, and more useful.

I feel more prepared as a coach, with greater empathy for my clients and students, and better able to support them. I’m already using what I learned.Claudia Urdaneta
As someone who never wanted the responsibility of such a heavy topic, this felt like the most beneficial way to help people. The methods are gentle and supportive.Kerry Ann
I’d had students react in ways I didn’t fully understand, moments where I felt unsure of what to say. This helped me approach those moments with more clarity and compassion.Melody
It’s given me the confidence to work with some populations that had previously felt intimidating, because I didn’t feel I knew how to support them properly.Erin

Before you join

Will I have to change the way I work?

No. You can do everything in the course sitting in your chair, in the way you already work.

Am I ready? I don’t have any somatic training.

Yes. No prior somatic training is needed. We start from the first step.

Will a structured approach flatten what I already sense in sessions?

No. It gives language and safety to your intuition, so you can trust it more, not less.

What’s the difference between this short course and the full Somatics training?

This short course gives you the first steps after a client names a sensation, together with the 10-hour Trauma Aware Facilitation Training. Our full program, the Somatic Foundations Facilitation Training, goes much deeper: 70 CPD-accredited hours, with 12 somatic modules, the Trauma Aware Facilitation Foundation, fortnightly live calls with Rachel & Lucy for your first six months and a lifetime place in our practitioner community. If you choose to join it after this course, your $197 comes off the price.

Will I get a certificate?

Upon completion of the Trauma Aware Facilitation Training you will get 10 CPD hours, Yoga Alliance (YACEP), and NASM & AFAA continuing education. The short Somatic Facilitation part of the course is for your learning and your practice with clients and doesn’t end with a certificate.

Can I use it with clients straight away?

Yes, within your scope. The practices are short, and we suggest trying each one with a willing partner first.

What if I want to go further later?

If, after Your First Steps in Somatic Facilitation, you choose to join our full program, the Somatic Foundations Facilitation Training, your $197 comes off the price.

How long do I have access?

For life. It’s self-paced, so you can start straight away and move through it in your own time.

Next time your client tells you where they feel it, you’ll know where to go next.

Nine lectures and practices, a bonus lecture, the full Trauma Aware Facilitation Training and your CPD-accredited certificate. $197, lifetime access.
